Botanica Urbana is a mission to save a greenhouse from senseless demolition. Lying around Diebsteich Station in the municipality of Altona, the greenhouse was going to be demolished for the sake of a residential expansion ongoing in the area. We aim to dismantle it and rebuild it on the rooftop ot the (too) many multi-storey parking lot of the city. There it can become a circular restaurant, where food is produced and processed. A sustainable model to support the culture of re-use. In times of climate crisis and scarcity of raw resources, with up to 40% of the global carbon emissions related to the construction of new buildings, we must respond giving value to things and infrastructure already available and capable to enhance the quality of life of a city.
